Advanced multidisciplinary care
Most
Americans suffer from one kind of pain or another. There are literally
hundreds of diseases and conditions that can cause pain or discomfort of
varying degrees.
That
is why we believe in using a true multidisciplinary approach to treating
pain. We have successfully treated well over 10,000 pain sufferers using a
wide variety of treatments with exceptional results.
Unlike
many doctors, we believe in recommending whatever treatment is necessary to
relieve your pain. As medical director of Pain Partners MD, Dr. Scott Boyd
works closely with a diverse group of dedicated health practitioners,
including:
Acupuncturists – They practice the 5,000-year-old Chinese art of acupuncture.
They place and manipulate long thin needles along various points
(meridians) on the body to reduce or eliminate many different kinds of
pain.
Chiropractors – They use a variety of special
techniques to manipulate the spine and skeletal structure and are
especially well-regarded for reducing back pain and other types of
musculoskeletal pain.
Clinical
psychologists – They
work closely with patients to address the mind-body connection and teach
pain management and coping skills. They also address behavioral issues that
can result from suffering with long-term chronic pain.
Massage
therapists – They
use a variety of hands-on therapeutic massage techniques to relax the body
and stimulate improved circulation and the proper flow of lymph. They also
use special methods to address specific areas of pain and dysfunction.
Physical
therapists – They
use an incredible variety of treatment modalities (heat, ice, electric
stimulation, ultrasound, etc.) and specialized hands-on techniques
(myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, etc.) to address a multitude of
muscle, bone and joint problems.
Each
of these licensed, certified and degreed professionals has a unique and
important place
in the care, management and treatment of pain. In addition, we have
extensively studied pain treatment techniques from Europe and the Far East.
We draw from among all the best, most effective protocols to help our
patients because we are dedicated to relieving their pain.
